Consultation
I offer consultation for clinicians who are wanting:
- case consultation
- consultation in the use of Imaginal Nurturing and the Developing a Secure Self approach
- consultation in working with attachment-based issues
- to explore the attachment aspects of the therapeutic relationship
- grounding in the fundamentals of EMDR (once you have completed basic EMDR training)
- familiarity with more advanced aspects of EMDR
- certification with EMDRIA
- EMDRIA-Approved Consultant status
Using a collaborative approach, I aim to respond to your needs whether it be to hone your therapeutic skills in working with deficits and attachment issues or the use of EMDR, to deepen your understanding of the client’s unconscious processes, or to increase your awareness of issues in the therapeutic relationship. Topics which may come up include:
- treatment planning
- the use of organizing tools, such as a lifeline
- readiness for EMDR
- developing resources
- attachment in the client's history and in the therapeutic relationship
- the Developing a Secure Self approach and Imaginal Nurturing
- developing affect regulation and tolerance
- targeting preverbal trauma
- dissociation
- the use of art, imagery, and metaphor
As an EMDRIA-approved consultant, I can work with you to meet the requirements for certification or approved-consultant status with EMDRIA.
Structure and fees
Consultation can be face-to-face or by telephone optionally supplemented by email.My fee for consultation is $100 per 60 minutes. This fee includes telephone charges when consultation takes place over the phone, but does not include the GST applicable to Canadians. There is a 20-minute minimum for phone consultation.
Cancellation policy: 24 hours' notice is requested if appointments need to be cancelled. For appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, the full fee is charged, with a minimum of $50 for telephone consultation.
